Reading: The two basic ways to connect
A reading of about 20 minutes in two chapters: series circuits (batteries in a torch, Tết fairy lights, a voltage divider for a light sensor), then parallel and combined circuits (electricity in the home, extension sockets, an electric motorbike's battery pack). For each example you work out every step yourself next to a live circuit diagram. Have some scrap paper and a calculator ready.
